Letter from the Director
2025 marked a defining year for San José Clean Energy and our city. Together with our customers and partners, we helped make San José the No. 1 Greenest City in America, as recognized by WalletHub. This milestone reflects years of commitment to clean, reliable electricity and smart investment in renewable energy. From supporting Caltrain’s transition to greener transportation to delivering cleaner power to every customer, we showed that bold climate action and dependable service can go hand in hand.
Affordability remained central to our mission. In 2025, customers saved over $40 million on electricity generation through San José Clean Energy. We also expanded programs to lower energy costs and improve access for those who need it most, including enhanced discounts, bill relief, and solar access for income-qualified households. These efforts ensure that clean energy is accessible, inclusive, and within reach for all San José residents.
We strengthened our connection to the community we serve. Through local partnerships, community events, and collaboration with trusted organizations, we deepened our role as a truly community-powered energy provider. This meant hosting our largest ever electric vehicle Ride & Drive and EcoHome Expo at PayPal Park and electrifying Santa’s house at Christmas in the Park. We are rooted in the San José community we serve, and as we continue to be at the forefront of technological advancements like data centers, our mission will always be about reducing emissions and building a cleaner, more sustainable future for San José—today and for years to come.
