WHAT ARE THESE CHARGES FOR?

Electric Generation
This pays for your source of power and how much electricity you’re using. Your rate will vary, depending on the type of service you choose: GreenSource, TotalGreen or PG&E service.
PG&E Added Fees
PG&E adds a fee to SJCE customer bills called the Power Charge Indifference Adjustment (PCIA). All electric consumers in PG&E territory pay the PCIA to cover PG&E’s above-market costs from legacy energy contracts and power plant operations.
Electric Delivery
PG&E still delivers your electricity on existing power lines and maintains the lines. The PG&E delivery rates are the same for everyone.

Request Reports

Our team can create a report in Excel format of all dates, usage, and charges since SJCE enrollment. This is also a good source of TOU data and demand charge data.

We can also provide interval data that customer may need to install storage or perform a 365/24/7 energy analysis.

Standard Service

2021 Emissions Factor: 162 lbs CO2e/MWh

Non-renewable carbon-free sources are a combination of large hydroelectric and nuclear, the proportion of which will be confirmed by the end of 2023.

Unspecified sources aren’t traceable to a specific generation facility, such as electricity traded through open-market transactions. They may include renewables and hydroelectric.

Cost: TotalGreen premium over GreenSource rates for all usage

$0.005/kWh for medium and large commercial rate classes (A10, B10, E19, and B19)
$0.01/kWh for small commercial, industrial, and all others (A1, B1, A6, B6, E20, B20, etc.)

To meet customer demand for renewable energy, we have invested in more than 500 MW of new renewable energy and battery storage. These new resources have already started being added to the grid and will continue to come online within the next several years. San José Energy Efficient Business Program

Through the San José Energy Efficient Business Program, your business can receive rebates when you make certain energy-saving upgrades. These significant rebates (80-90% off!) help make the projects more affordable, and when you combine the rebates with your lower monthly energy costs, the upgrades can quickly pay for themselves.
