SJCE Launch Event During Global Climate Action Summit

The City has been awarded a highly coveted opportunity to host an Affiliate Event on September 12, during the Global Climate Action Summit being held in San Francisco. SJCE will join in with a service ribbon cutting ceremony during the City’s Event.

The Summit, hosted by Governor Jerry Brown, draws international and local government leaders, including Mayor Sam Liccardo. Co-Chairs of the Summit include Michael Blomberg, former Mayor of New York currently UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Climate Action and Patricia Espinosa, Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

They’re joined by scientists, students, nonprofits, investors and others interested in showing how decarbonization, job generation, and resilient economic growth work together and can galvanize a global movement for climate action.

The Affiliate Events are an opportunity to create additional arenas for exploring climate challenges and solutions that complement Summit activities. With SJCE and the City’s commitment to climate action, San José is doing its part to help lead the charge to reduce global emissions and putting global climate protection back on track.

The community can attend the Summit virtually, through YouTubeFacebook, and Twitter. We’ll have more information coming soon about how you can attend the San José Clean Energy service ribbon cutting ceremony.
