Space in the Solar Access program is limited to the solar capacity allocation from the California Public Utilities Commission, which is 1.736 megawatts (MW). SJCE estimates this capacity can serve approximately 593 customers. This estimate is based on the average energy usage of all CARE/FERA customers in PG&E territory.
November 5, 2021 is the initial deadline to apply for the Solar Access program. After November 5, SJCE will review applications to confirm customer eligibility and create a pool of eligible applicants. The first set of Solar Access customers will be randomly selected from this pool. SJCE will add customers who apply by November 5, 2021 but aren’t randomly selected to a waitlist. When a spot opens up in the program, SJCE will use this waitlist to randomly select customers for enrollment. Customers who apply after November 5, 2021 will be added to a second waitlist in the order their application was received. Once the first pool of waitlisted customers has been added to the program, this second waitlist will be used to fill future spots on a first-come, first-served basis.
All customers will be notified of their application status.
