Get paid to save energy!
San José Clean Energy’s (SJCE) Peak Rewards Program will pay your business to reduce energy use during events called between the hours of 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. this summer (May-October).
SJCE will notify listed contact via email or text to provide event date, time, duration, and incentive amount. In most cases, notification will be about 21 hours in advance. However, some events (such as grid emergencies/Level 3) may have less than a 21- hour notice.
Businesses should attempt to reduce energy consumption as much as possible. If you do not plan to participate, please reply ‘not participating’ to the notification provided.
Based on your business’s usage data, SJCE will calculate the amount your business reduced from an established baseline. The baseline will include usage during non-event days and an adjustment to account for hotter temperatures or other factors on the day of. After each event, we will send you an email within a couple of days with your energy savings (if any) and payout amount based on the kWh reductions and the incentive payment for the event.
