SJCE Lowers Rates Starting March 2026
Good news – starting March 1, San José Clean Energy (SJCE) customers will see savings of 4% on their electric bill, amounting to about $7 in savings per month for the average household, compared to 2025.
Including the SJCE bill credit in January, customers are expected to save approximately $5 million in total during 2026.

The Same Clean Energy for Less
As your community-owned, not-for-profit electricity provider, our goal is to provide clean, reliable energy at fair rates.
Your clean energy options will stay the same:
- GreenSource (our standard service) remains 62% renewable.
- TotalGreen stays 100% renewable — upgrade today for only $4 more per month for the average home.
- SJ Cares customers continue to receive a 10% discount on GreenSource rates. Customers must be enrolled in CARE or FERA state electricity bill assistance programs.
- Solar Access customers continue to receive 100% renewable energy at a 20% discount. Customers must meet income or housing requirements – apply online or over the phone to see if you qualify.
Since launching service in 2019, SJCE customers have saved over $40 million compared to bundled PG&E service.
With SJCE, you’re also getting cleaner air and a more sustainable future in San José and beyond. Since 2023, we’ve kept over one million metric tons of greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere.
